Paul Casey WITB for 2017

Paul Casey What’s in the Bag

At 39 years of age, Paul Casey is a veteran of the professional golf world. During his long career, Casey has tested out countless clubs on the greatest courses all over the world. 2016 was another good year for the Englishman, with a very impressive T4 finish at The Masters being one of his best ever placings at a major tournament.

He also tied for 10th at the PGA Championship and continued to show that, even in the twilight years of his career, he should still be taken seriously. With experience comes wisdom, and Paul Casey’s bag has been fine-tuned over the years. The clubs he has been using throughout 2017 have been perfectly adapted to his style of swing and play. So in this article, we’re going to take a look at WITB for Paul Casey and perhaps help you benefit from the wisdom of one of golf’s longest-serving professional players.

Driver: Nike Vapor Fly at 10.5 degrees

paul-casey-driverJust like star players Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, Casey’s bag is filled exclusively with Nike-branded clubs. He begins with the Vapor Fly driver, one of the highest-rated clubs of recent times. This driver actually earned the prestigious honor of a Golf Digest gold medal award and has been used by several professional players throughout the 2016-2017 seasons.

This all-titanium club is seemingly flawless in design, providing the perfect combination of power, control, speed and grace. It’s an immensely satisfying club to use and can be appreciated by golfers of all styles and abilities. A relatively thin crown helps to provide additional flexibility and more consistency on off-center hits. Additional technology like the deep sole cavity helps with energy transfer and ensures that your ball fly straight on every single drive.

3 wood: Nike Vapor Fly at 15 degrees

It won’t necessarily be to everyone’s tastes, but we think it looks pretty chic. More importantly, it works exceptionally well. Nike has long since mastered the manufacture of fairway woods and now focuses on making small improvements to fine-tune the process. With an exceptionally thin crown and a low center of gravity, this 3-wood can provide astonishing launch angles and low amounts of spin, offering big distances with high consistency.

Irons: Nike VRS Forged (3-iron), Nike Vapor Pro (4-PW)

Shafts: Nippon N.S. Pro Modus3 ORA 135X Prototype

Meanwhile, the Vapor Pro irons make up the rest of Casey’s bag. Crafted with 1025 carbon steel for the right balance of power and stability, these irons feature of center of gravity that is positioned towards the front of the head for maximum power. The body is fully stable to offer a satisfying feel and sound at the point of impact.

Wedges: Nike VR Forged (52, 56 and 60 degrees)

Shafts: Nippon N.S. Pro Modus3 ORA 135X Prototype
nike-vr-wedgeA long-time favorite of Casey’s, the VR Forged set of wedges has served him well this season. Making use of X3X grooves for just the right amount of roughness, these wedges give you the control you need to make those tricky shots. Chipping becomes easier than ever before with a VR Forged wedge in your hands, and testing has shown that even inexperienced golfers can hit the ball with remarkable consistency while using these clubs.

Putter: Nike Method Origin B2-04

Just like Rory McIlroy, Paul Casey makes use of one of Nike’s elite Method Origin putters, specifically the B2-04. Making use of the brand’s famous RZN technology for perfect energy transfer, even on off-center hits, this putter is highly stable and has helped Casey out on several occasions this year.

Golf Ball: Nike RZN Tour Platinum

Finally, Casey goes with the RZN Tour Platinum balls. These 4-piece balls are exceptionally soft and feature FlightSuit dimples to glide smoothly and rapidly through the air.
