Jason Day WITB 2018

It’s certainly too early to determine whether or not Day has regained his form to start the 2018 season, but back-to-back T11 finishes suggests he’s on the right track.

Day has had issues with his golf game over the past 12 months, but they could in part be attributed to the personal issues he went through with his mother’s lung cancer diagnosis and treatment.

That being said, he has looked much better to start 2018, and certainly seems excited about his latest additions to his TaylorMade bag and has hyped the life out of TM’s twist face technology.

Here’s a closer look at WITB for Jason Day to start this season.

Driver: TaylorMade M3 at 9 degrees

Shaft: TPT (Thin Ply Technology)
Jason Day is currently using the TaylorMade M3 460 driver with the loft all the way down. He has raved about these new TM drivers, which will officially hit the market in mid-February. It’s great to see TPT shafts getting some love on tour. These guys are making arguably the best, most consistent wood shafts on the planet. Day’s TPT shafts for both his driver and 3 wood are unmarked and we couldn’t find the exact details on them.

Fairway Wood: TaylorMade M1 3 Wood at 15 degrees

Shaft: TPT (Thin Ply Technology)
It’s interesting to see Day, for the second year in the row bag TaylorMade’s new driver with the previous season’s fairway wood. He has tweaked the loft down slightly from what he played last season and again swapped out his Mitsubishi Rayon shafts for TPT’s.

Irons: TaylorMade P790 (2 iron), TaylorMade P750 (3-PW)

We continue to have emails pour in from subscribers telling us that the P790’s are the best GI irons on the market. The entire TaylorMade staff seems to love these mixed sets with a driving iron from 790 and either a set of 750’s in Day’s case, or 730’s in DJ’s case.

Putter: TaylorMade Ghost Spider IB Black Prototype

JD and DJ have both had a love-hate relationship with the spider putter. Both guys vastly improved their putting while using the spider, eventually moved to a different putter, only to come back to the spider. They always come back.
