Brandt Snedeker What’s in the Bag
Former PGA Tour Rookie of the Year Brandt Snedeker has enjoyed another solid season in 2016. He made the cut at three majors and even earned himself a T10 finish at this year’s edition of The Masters. He also enjoyed a fine victory at the Farmers Insurance Open, beating out K. J. Choi to the title. He even came close to securing a second win at the Sony Open in Hawaii this year, but narrowly lost in the playoffs against Fabian Gomez.
Snedeker has been playing some fine golf in recent times and so, in this article, we’re going to be delving into his bag and checking out some of the clubs he has used most regularly throughout this season. Snedeker joins, Couples, and DeChambeau on the Bridgestone tour pros team.
Driver: Bridgestone JGR at 9.5 degrees
Shaft: Fujikura Speeder Evolution 661 (X-Flex)
A visually stunning and highly effective driver, the Bridgestone JGR features a lot of impressive technology. The power milled face allows for additional forgiveness on slight mishits, while also providing big distances and reduced spin. Meanwhile, the brand’s speeDARC technology is able to offer huge launches and exceedingly fast travel speeds on impact. This driver has been made with power and performance in mind. It offers just the right amount of forgiveness to work for less-skilled players, but retains all of the right features to guarantee the biggest, strongest hits.
3 wood: Callaway X Hot at 15 degrees
Shaft: Aldila Tour Blue 75X
Available for less than $50, the Callaway X Hot 3-wood offers Forged Speed Cup Frame technology which basically equates to maximum speed and forgiveness. Even off-center hits will be sent flying accurately and powerful when using this particular club. If you lack a little bit of consistency in your game, the X Hot could be a great addition to your bag.
5 Wood: Tour Stage X-FW at 18 degrees
Shaft: Fujikura Pro Tour Spec 83X
Designed for fast swinging players, the Tour Stage X-FW represents yet another remarkably efficient club to come out Bridgestone’s development labs. Created with a revolutionary new material for added strength in the head, this club is able to transfer the maximum amount of energy from the swing into the ball, guaranteeing long distances every time.
Irons: Bridgestone J15CB (4-PW)
Shafts: Aerotech SteelFiber i95 S-Flex
Snedeker has selected Bridgestone’s J15CB set as his irons of choice. Featuring Flex Action Speed Technology for additional flexibility on off-center hits, these irons will help your shots stay straight no matter what. Testing has shown that these clubs provide plenty of forgiveness and can be very powerful in the right hands, as proven by Snedeker himself.
Wedges: Bridgestone J15 (52 bent to 51 degrees; 56 bent to 55 degrees), Titleist Vokey TVD Prototype (60-3 K Grind)
Shafts: True Temper Dynamic Gold S400 Tour Issue
Snedeker mixing things up with his wedges, going with the Bridgestone J15 and a Titleist Vokey TVD Prototype. The J15 offers a lot of forgiveness, while Bob Vokey has proven himself time and time again a master club creator. Snedeker’s Prototype has served him well, offering the right balance of roughness, flexibility and power to suit his swing.
Putter: Odyssey White Hot XG Rossie
A lightly used example of one of these putters can be picked up for approximately $56 and is well worth every single cent. The Odyssey White Hot XG Rossie offers a very high MOI due to the weight being spread out around the outside of the head. This helps the putter to provide a nice degree of forgiveness and clean rolls for each putt. Ideally suited for both amateurs and pros, it’s a top quality putter.
Ball: Bridgestone Tour B330
Finally, Snedeker goes with the Bridgestone Tour B330 ball, a firm favorite with high swing speed players. Featuring a dual mantle design and relatively low spin, the B330 offers everything you’d want from a Tour-grade ball.
