Tommy Armour III shot a 7-under 65 at Del Monte Golf Course and moved into a two-stroke lead Saturday over Nick Watney after three rounds of the Callaway Golf Pebble Beach Invitational.

Armour, a two-time PGA Tour tournament winner who finished 110th on the PGA Tour money list this season, has a 14-under 202 total.

"I had a good overall round," said Armour, who began the day with a three-stroke deficit over 36-hole leader Ronnie Black. "Actually, I've played well all three days, so I'm really looking forward to the final round at Pebble Beach."

Armour, whose 34-under winning total at the 2003 Texas Open is the PGA Tour 72-hole record, tallied six birdies, one bogey and an eagle during the third round.

"Everything went pretty well; I'm made some putts," said Armour. "It was a good, solid round."

Watney, the 2005 Callaway winner, shot a 67, also at Del Monte, one of three courses used in the unique tournament.

"It was nothing spectacular; It was just a good, steady round," said Watney, who had five birdies and no bogeys.

The 36th annual event features 81 pros from the four major tours as well as mini-tour players, club pros and amateur teams.

Black, who held a one-stroke lead over over Joel, Kribel entering the third round, shot par 72 at Spyglass Hill and is in third at 206.

Kribel (70, Pebble Beach), Steve Allan (67 Pebble Beach), Rocco Mediate (67, Pebble Beach), Jason Gore (67, Spyglass) and Tom Purtzer (70, Pebble Beach) are grouped at 207.

Purtzer's total is the lowest among seven Champions Tour entrants.

Leta Lindley shot 74 at Pebble Beach and is grouped with seven others at 213. Lindley was only LPGA entrant among eight to make the cut.

First-round leader Kevin Sutherland, who shot a tournament-low 62 to start the tournament and held a four-shot margin, had a 74 at Pebble Beach and is among four players at 211.

David Duval (73, Spyglass Hill), who will play the 2008 PGA Tour season under the new hardship exemption also was in three final threesome with John Cook (72 Pebble Beach) and Bruce Fleisher (73, Pebble Beach) who made the final cut at 214.

The final round will be held Sunday at Pebble Beach. The winner will earn $60,000 of the $300,000 purse.
